WELCOME TO MRS. HAMMER'S CLASS WEB SITE
A note from the teacher
October 13, 2015
Hello Parents,
Last Friday information about our Millionaire Project went home. I have included the instructions as a page. Students love this project, but it is harder than they think. The biggest mistakes tend to be not doing the Table of Contents correctly. It should include the page number, item, and price with a running tally of expenses in either ascending or descending order. Also, students forget to follow the directions for the conclusion. Each page must include a picture, actual amount of item, and the website where it was found. Google is not a website. This week, I've decided not to attempt to do a reading unit since there is so much in our schedule and it is a short week. We are instead reviewing and taking quizzes on skills we have practiced. I am trying desperately to get them to go back and look in the text for evidence. We practice the skill regularly, but some students continue to rush work. Please encourage students to check their work and take their time.In math we are working on adding and subtracting decimals, and they are doing very well. They will have a quiz tomorrow and this will be their final math grade with exception of their nine weeks homework grade. In science, we just finished up Chapter 5. They did their final open book, open-note quiz today and will take their final test on Thursday. Grandparent's day is tomorrow. My mail person accidentally missed handing out the notices so I am sorry for the inconvenience. It will begin at 12:00.
